Dabo Swinney Fired Back at Steve Spurrier After Winning the Orange Bowl
By Kyle Koster
The South Carolina-Clemson rivalry is alive and well. Two days after Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier used his Capital One Bowl victory speech to needle the Tigers, Dabo Swinney got his chance to respond. He did not disappoint.
“We’re the first team from the state of South Carolina to ever win a BCS game,” Swinney informed a frenzied crowd.
While he was simply stating a quantitative fact, it’s difficult to qualitatively judge the merits of two consecutive Capital One Bowl victories against one Orange Bowl victory.
We can all agree a sitcom featuring these two sharing an apartment and trading zingers would be compelling television. Someone needs to make that happen.
