Anthony Bosch, the disgraced former head of the Biogenesis Clinic, will appear on 60 Minutes Sunday night and state he injected Alex Rodriguez with PEDs, among other revelations. CBS aired a teaser during halftime of the Colts/Pats game. Earlier in the day Saturday Rodriguez’s suspension was reduced from 211 games to 162, which will cost him all of the 214 season.
Among the “bomshell” details Bosch is set to disclose:
-He personally delivered banned substances, including testosterone, insulin-like growth factor 1 and human growth hormone to Rodriguez at least a dozen times and Rodriguez paid him $12,000 a month in cash.
-He personally injected Rodriguez because “Alex is scared of needles, so at times, he would ask me to inject.”
Whether or not you agree with the credibility of Bosch, it appears arbitrator Fredric Horowitz did. The bulk of MLB’s case against A-Rod was based off the testimony of Bosch, who in the 60 Minutes pieces provides us with yet another weird detail about Rodriguez.
The way this is going, expect A-Rod to air his version of the story soon enough as he plots his next move, which likely involves taking MLB to Federal Court.
Some writers, such as Sports Illustrated’s Tom Verducci have not minced their words writing about Saturday’s ruling.
