The Saints Recovered an Onside Kick, Then Marques Colston Decided to Throw a Dumb Forward Pass to End Game

Saints recover onside kick against Seattle

The Saints got a miracle onside kick recovery after scoring a touchdown to make it 23-15. They were in desperation mode and could not get tackled in bounds. That’s when Drew Brees hit Marques Colston along the sideline, with enough time to step out of bounds near the 35 and set up a realistic throw into the end zone.

Instead, Colston decided to run back in toward the center of the field and chuck a clear forward pass across the field. With the automatic 10 second runoff for trying to preserve time by throwing a forward pass past the line of scrimmage, the game was over. What the heck, Marques?
