Northwestern's Sanjay Lumpkin Lost a Tooth Diving For a Loose Ball

Sanjay Lumpkin loses a tooth

Sanjay Lumpkin left it all on the floor during Northwestern’s 49-43 upset of #23 Illinois on Sunday. And by “it,” I mean one of his teeth. Lumpkin dove for a loose ball early in the first half and smashed his face on the court. Lumpkin went on to play 38 minutes – Hold on. He played 38 minutes? So his only rest was because he knocked out his damn tooth? Wow.

Lumpkin contributed 4 points, 5 rebounds an assist and a block. Grit and determination were not represented on the stat sheet.
