The Brooklyn Nets are in London this week to play a game with the Hawks on Thursday. In case you hadn’t heard, one of David Stern’s last directives as NBA commish is to try to spread the game to all corners of the globe — maybe even put a franchise in London or some other European city eventually.
Part of the Nets fun in London included a trip to Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea FC. Figure the two teams mega-wealthy Russian owners Mikhail Prokhorov and Roman Abramovich had something to do with this arrangement. (Perhaps they hosted a private helicopter battle above the ground for select lucky witnesses.)
Kevin Garnett is a long-time fan of Chelsea and seemed to enjoy himself touring the historic English ground. It’s a safe bet to say his scarf game had a good time chilling in Jose Mourinho’s seat in the technical area.
