Lauren Tannehill, the wife of Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, rented a car in Florida for two hours last week before swapping it back for another car. When she left the vehicle behind, she forgot her massive LMT AR-15 rifle in the backseat, the Sun-Sentinel reports.
Here’s what an unsuspecting mother and daughter discovered in the back seat:
The rifle, which retails for $2,000, seems like it is a bit more of a toy than a tool — via the report:
Gun experts say that kind of a rifle shoots one round at a time and a magazine allows for 30 bullets. Upgrades can hold as many as 100, they said. Justin Lampert, an owner of National Armory, a gun store and gun range in Pompano Beach, said because there are “much better guns for defensive purposes,” this rifle is used mostly for collectors, gun-range enthusiasts and hunting, especially of boars.
After determining that the rifle was legally owned and registered by the Dolphins quarterback, authorities opted not to press charges.
