Seahawks Fans Caused Another Earthquake After Marshawn Lynch's Late Touchdown Run Against the Saints Last Sunday

Divisional Playoffs - New Orleans Saints v Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks fans at CenturyLink Field are loud. Have you heard about this in the last couple weeks?

The fans in Seatt are so loud that after a Marshawn Lynch touchdown run against the Saints in Saturday’s NFC Divisional Playoff they caused another small earthquake. The Seattle Times reported it could register a higher number on the Richter Scale than a Lynch touchdown run three years ago:

Three years ago, fans jumped, stomped and screamed, generating energy roughly equivalent to a magnitude 1 or 2 earthquake.

“This signal looks bigger than the one three years ago,” said John Vidale, director of the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network at the University of Washington, “but we don’t know yet.”

Seismologists will need a few days to be sure, he said.

All of this talk of earthquakes sounds dangerous. More specifically it sounds like the plot of a really bad disaster movie directed by Roland Emmerich. They thought all they were doing was attending a football game, they never thought cheering could lead … to this …! [Seattle Times]
