Rob Ryan Will Cut His Hair, But Not for a Coaching Job

Rob Ryan displeased

New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is easily identifiable by his long silver locks. Some recent speculation that his flowing hair was standing in the way of a head coaching opportunity prompted someone to ask Ryan if he’d consider a haircut.

“It is getting kind of long now. Eventually, I’ll cut it,” Ryan said Wednesday during an impromptu interview at a New Orleans Pelicans game.”But not now with the peer pressure. I think I’ll let it grow.”

When he does get a trim, it will be for a nobler reason than a new job. As he’s done a handful of times before, Ryan will donate the hair to charity.

“Well, I mean I’ve done that since I was in Oakland,” Ryan said. “It all started with my daughter. I went to school and one of her classmates needed hair and all that.  So, I’ve donated my hair about five different times to Locks of Love.”

When Ryan does visit a barber, we can only hope he asks for the Jack Sikma.
