Navorro Bowman Forced a Fumble, Recovered it, But Then Suffered a Brutal Injury and Seattle Took the Ball

Navorro Bowman, the great San Francisco linebacker, made an incredible play to strip the ball from a Seattle receiver inside the 5-yard line. Bowman recovered the fumble, but as he was falling backward, someone crushed his leg, and it appeared as if Bowman suffered a terrible knee injury. Though Bowman was clearly down by contact, the referees didn’t see it, and while he was on the ground in pain, Marshawn Lynch stripped him of the ball.

Even though replays were clear that Bowman was down by contact, referees said it was not reviewable.

Justice was served a play later, as the Seahawks went for the touchdown, as Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch fumbled the handoff.
