Richard Sherman will be the NFL story for much of today, given his wild postgame interview with Erin Andrews after the Seahawks advanced to the Super Bowl.
Sherman was apparently ticked that Michael Crabtree claimed earlier in the week Sherman wasn’t the best cornerback in the NFL, as well as whatever this was:
“He said something personal face to face,” Sherman said. “He knows what he said and he knows I’m going to be tough on him the rest of his career.”
Update: Sherman’s beef supposedly stem’s from a handshake rejection at Larry Fitzgerald’s charity event.
Sherman ended up making the game-winning play late in the 4th quarter, then taunted Crabtree afterward.
Crabtree went on twitter early Monday morning to fire back:

Perhaps in a sub-tweet response to Crabtree, but more likely in sub-tweet response to the haters from coast-to-coast, Sherman retorted:
A lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinions of a sheep.

There’s gonna be plenty of discussion about Sherman and class and race in the coming day and weeks, but my opinion is that sports are better with heels. To me, it’s great when a charismatic figure like Floyd Mayweather or Sherman speaks loudly and carries a big stick, and it’s fun — which sports are supposed to be — when they galvanize passionate and polarizing rooting interests (overt racism is obviously excluded from the enjoyment aspect).
