Temidayo Yussuf, a high school basketball player at St. Joseph Notre Dame (Alameda, California), produced one of the wildest shots of the year Friday night in a game against El Cerrito. Yussuf, who is committed to play at Long Beach State, hauled down a rebound of a missed free throw and heaved a prayer the length of the court. It banked in to tie the game at 61-61 and force overtime.

The fans rushed the court following the unlikely full court game tying shot, which caused a lengthy delay while the referees reviewed the play.

El Cerrito coach Michael Booker made a valid point, telling MaxPreps it was highly unlikely the shot should have counted:

"“Honestly, the only one who thought it should count were the referees,” Booker said. “You can’t grab a rebound, land on your feet, turn and then shoot all in 0.6 seconds left. The clock just got started later than it should. … Make no mistake, it was an amazing shot by an amazing player in an amazing game. … I’m just glad we finally pulled it out.”"

El Cerrito, the No. 3 ranked team in California, went on to win in overtime. [MaxPreps]
