Norwegian snowboarder Kjersti Buaas didn’t fare too well at the Sochi Slopestyle course on Thursday, wiping out right at the start of the course. Bear in mind, this is the same course that prompted American Shaun White to withdraw from the event on Wednesday for safety/injury concerns.

Good news: Buaas is okay, as Instagram News™ reports:

“Oh snap…That was a real scare!!! Good news is that I only ruptured a muscle… I am so grateful it’s nothing worse, even though I have some severe pain in my stomach and back.”

I’ll admit, I love that a Norwegian snowboarder uses the term “oh snap” to describe a horrible-looking wipeout. However a “ruptured muscle” sounds awfully painfully, although the terminology is probably lost in translation. [GIF via r/Olympics]
