Gareth Bale, the most expensive man in world soccer, added this tidy little goal to his collection during Real Madrid’s Champions League romp against FC Schalke in Germany. For many American soccer fans, it’s been a bit of “out of sight, out of mind” for Bale after moving from the Premier League to Spain in the summer for the GDP of a small country. Goals like this remind us why Madrid payed that kingly sum ($130 million, actually) for the Welshman’s services.
It also should be noted it’s a lot easier to score goals like this when you opponent is content to stand there and watch.
