The Mets' Twitter Account Used Unfortunate Phrasing to Praise Daisuke Matsuzaka's Strong First Inning

Daisuke Matsuzaka struck out the side in a Grapefruit League game Monday. The Mets Twitter account apparently was a little too fired up by this performance, posting this cringe-worthy tweet.

It lasted only a few minutes before it was deleted. Oops. The Mets quickly apologized for the poor phrasing.

You’d have thought the Mets would’ve been a little more cautious about stuff like this given the small controversy over a racially-tinged joke told by pitching coach Dan Warthen earlier this spring. Then again, it was probably just an unfortunate mistake.[Via @SladeHV]
