Little Kid Dressed as Youppi Stole Show During Baseball's Return to Montreal

Major League Baseball made a temporary return to Montreal this weekend with a pair of exhibition games at Olympic Stadium between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets. The games drew almost 100,000 fans combined (Poutine sales figures have yet to be released.). In a mild shocker Youppi! — the Expos beloved orange mascot (and amazing sax player) — didn’t turn up for the game Friday night. Apparently his contractual obligations with his his employers, the Canadiens got in the way.

Fortunately the big orange guy showed up Saturday to help honor the 1994 Expos — Marquis Grissom! — however said appearance was trumped by a little kid in the Olympic Stadium stands dressed up as a miniature Youppi.

The next generation #Youppi was spotted. #Expos #montreal #mlb #theunclemikeshow #baseball #2018 we will #PlayBall

Lest we forget, Youppi is the best … or at least reminds us of a time when everyone was much more innocent and full of wonder.
