NBA Suspends Dallas Mavericks PA Announcer Following Twitter Outburst

Sean Heath, the Dallas Mavericks public address announcer, was suspended for tweeting. Yes, you read that right, the NBA suspended a PA announcer for tweeting about questionable officiating. These were the tweets that got him the suspension:

Is that sort of thing frowned upon? What probably did in Heath was that he tweeted them to the NBA. Mistake. The guy only had 253 followers at the time of his tweets (he’s since more than doubled that), so nobody would have seen them. But sending them to the NBA wasn’t too smart a move.

So 10 days after sounding off, he’s getting a brief paid vacation. Heath will miss the Mavs’ final regular season game against Phoenix, and then either the first Dallas playoff game, or their first game next season. [via ESPN Dallas]
