Bubba Watson Wins His Second Masters

Bubba Watson secured his second Masters victory by overcoming challenges from 20-year-old Jordan Spieth, Matt Kuchar and Jonas Blixt. He was able to find consistency during the final round while his main competitors struggled, en route to a three-shot win.

While his road to the green jacket lacked the amazing drama of his 2012 “snap hook” masterpiece, Watson’s ability to replicate success at Augusta puts him in select company. He becomes just the 17th golfer to win the major multiple times.

Watson made his push right before the turn. He birdied the 8th and 9th while Spieth, who led earlier in the round, turned in back-to-back bogeys.

Leading by three shots on the 15th hole, Watson opted to blast a difficult shot over water instead of laying up.

He tapped in for par after leaving a chip shot short to maintain his edge. Following a par on 16, the long-hitting lefty airmailed his tee shot to the left but was able to execute a fine second shot to save another par and eliminate all intrigue.
