Following his team’s fourth consecutive Premier League loss, Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew suggested the media was responsible for fueling the anger of Magpies supporters.

“I don’t think the local press have helped,” he said of the unenviable position of having fans call for for your job.

Fairly innocuous, right?

The Newcastle Sun decided to respond with a back page drizzled with copious amounts of sarcasm.

They printed Pardew’s many missteps this season in large font while “apologizing” for causing all of them.

Who says print journalism has lost its ability to zing?
