Iowa Football Assistant Leaves Team to Open a Fast Food Franchise

Eric Johnson spent the last 15 years on Kirk Ferentz’s coaching staff at Iowa. He was an assistant defensive line coach for the past two seasons and, for the last decade, has served as the Hawkeyes’ recruiting coordinator. Yesterday, he announced he was departing the team:

This is going to draw the ire of my buddy Matt, who is absolutely obsessed with Culver’s and sent me this news last night, but I don’t think the chain is that good. Will I ever eat there again? Sure, but I prefer McDonald’s and Wendy’s, even with their larger market saturation. Culver’s burgers are OK, but their fries are pretty meh. Their frozen custard is admittedly pretty delicious, but if I’m in the mood for ice cream I’d strongly prefer Dairy Queen.
