Instead of dignifying this 649-degree hot take from Merril Hoge with a response, I’ve made a note in my calendar to re-visit it at the end of next football season. Two years should be enough to evaluate Clowney’s play and determine whether his football performance winds up being somewhere better than “atrocious”. If, for whatever, reason Hoge gets proven correct from all the anonymous scout-y stereotypes he uses to bash Clowney’s play against triple teams, I’ll give the man his due.
