Bernie Kosar Lost His Job as Cleveland Browns Preseason Color Commentator [UPDATE]

Image (1) Bernie-Kosar-in-the-greatest-photo-ever-taken.jpg for post 227838Bernie Kosar will be replaced in the Cleveland Browns preseason broadcast both by Solomon Wilcots. The former Browns quarterback has struggled with alcohol in the past and seemed to go overboard on criticism during a game last year against the Rams. But the Browns haven’t turned their back on Kosar completely.

The Browns are in discussions with Kosar on potential new roles, which could include segments on ClevelandBrowns.com, Cleveland Browns Daily on WKNR-850 AM, and the Browns Radio Network. Kosar also could be part of the pregame telecasts for preseason games.

UPDATED: Via ESPN:

Kosar said he was fired because of his “slurred speech impairment, which is a direct result of the many concussions I received while playing in the NFL.” Kosar also appealed to the team and station to reinstate him.

Everything about that is sad.
