Buffalo made a big trade to move up to get the 4th overall pick, but give up next year’s first round and fourth round picks to move up from 9th overall. They select Sammy Watkins. If you have read me at all, you know how I feel about trading a future 1st round pick. Wow.
I’ll break it down this way– IF you assume that one year is worth one round, which is a very faulty assumption, but one teams operate under– then this trade is dead even. But that’s treating the Bills first round pick next year like a 2nd, and the fourth round pick like a 5th. Based on actual return, it’s a massive win for Cleveland.
