Recruit Chooses Rice Because They Wrote a Letter to His Cat, "White Sox"
"Inside the letter was a note to J.T.’s cat, White Sox, that said “please help us to get J.T. to choose Rice. “Paw me in case you have any questions.”"
Considering they didn’t even know his cat’s name and they used an extremely unimaginative pun, I have to assume he had a good campus visit or was told he could start as a freshman.
