Classy Boston Bruins Take Playoff Loss Like Gentlemen

Brad Marchand is a pretty cool guy. Here he is hitting Thomas Plekanec with punch to the head before a faceoff. Plekanec, less than 20 minutes away from the Eastern Conference Finals, basically ignores the sucker punch. Then, in the handshake line after the game ended, Milan Lucic had words for Dale Weise and Alexei Emelin.

What did Lucic have to say?

Given a chance to back down a bit from his comments, Lucic doubled-down on his reputation. From the Boston Globe:

Lucic was upset primarily because Weise spoke to the media about the statements, something Lucic believes broke the NHL code. He called him “a baby” for revealing what had been said.

“It’s unfortunate, because what’s said on the ice stays on the ice, and unfortunately that code is broken and it’s unfortunate that it blows up to what it is now,” Lucic said. “I’m not the first guy to do it, I’m not the last guy to do it.

He broke THE CODE! This is not over. As soon as Boston is allowed to play hockey again next season. Just you wait.
