Technically, Nicolas Mahut was asked two questions in English following his French Open loss to Mikhail Kukushkin on Monday. Those questions – as you can see in the transcript below – were, “You lost?” and “What happened out there?” Mahut’s initial reaction to the reporter’s congratulations was both wonderful and cringe-worthy. I mean, that’s uncomfortable. I feel the worst for the poor reporter who traveled all the way to France to cover tennis and didn’t even watch tennis. You had one job, English-speaking bro. One job.
