Maldives Player Gives Us Latest Entry for Best/Weirdest Penalty Kick of All Time

This is a new one. Maldives took on Afghanistan in the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup, which I’m sure you already knew. The game went to penalty kicks where Maldives’ Ashad Ali gave us the strangest penalty kick attempt in ages, seemingly tripping himself on purpose to pysch out the keeper.

The goal stood and Maldives went on to win and take third place. It’s a safe bet we won’t see this replicated at the World Cup next month.
