Jozy Altidore’s hamstring has healed sufficiently enough for U.S. Soccer to announce today that he’ll be “ready and available” to play against Belgium on Tuesday in the World Cup Round of 16. Of course, “ready and available” could mean many things. At first glance it seems highly doubtful that U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann would risk starting Altidore in a match that could potentially last up to 120 minutes with only three substitutes available.

Anyways, it’s good news ahead of a knockout round match if nothing else.
