Tracy McGrady Retired From Baseball After Winning a Home Run Derby Without Hitting a Home Run

t-macTracy McGrady’s baseball career is over. McGrady started the Atlantic League All Star Game and threw 1.1 innings, striking out the final batter he faced. (Update: Here’s video of the KO) McGrady, who appeared in four games for the Sugar Land Skeeters, decided to go out on a high note. Via CBS Houston:

“That is definitely going in the trophy case,” he said from the dugout following his outing. “I told some of the guys that I am going to get a strikeout before I stop playing. I got it in the second inning. Thank you Jesus.”

In addition to his strike out, McGrady also won the league’s home run derby.

McGrady also combined with Lamar Little Leaguer Will Dolan to win the Atlantic League Home Run Derby with six home runs. Dolan hit all six of the team’s bombs.

“I am the first Home Run Derby Champion in history with no home runs,” he joked.

Let the record reflect that T-Mac once won a home run derby without hitting a home run. He is officially the most interesting athlete in the world.
