How much interest is there among the friends and families of ball people when their loved one announces they’ll be sitting down the line at a Major League Baseball game collecting foul balls?

Are there watch parties? Does the neighborhood gather as one to see if good old Becky or Jimmy will make a slick grab?

If so, things likely became quite awkward for this girl’s supporters last night.

While her clean scoop of Eric Hosmer’s hard smash down the first-base line at Fenway Park was impressive, it was also wholly inappropriate since the ball was still in play.

Her reaction to the error in judgement is priceless and pretty much what anyone else would do under the circumstances. If there had been shrubbery nearby, we may have been treated to a rare Homer Simpson-like disappearing act.
