Bill Belichick: "We didn't play well enough, coach well enough, or do anything well enough"

Bill Belichick led a characteristically somber press conference after the Patriots’ 33-20 loss in Miami. “We didn’t do anything well enough that we need to do in a game — all the way across the board,” he said. “We’ve got to get back to work and prove in every phase of the game: playing, coaching, offense, defense, special teams — you name it.”

“I just don’t think we played well enough, coached well enough, or really do anything well enough,” he later answered. After that, the presser averted becoming a first-cousin of Allen Iverson’s practice rant — which was a little bit of an upset — but there also wasn’t really a time that Belichick gave an insightful quote that would be particularly edifying in print.
