Jadeveon Clowney Out 4-6 Weeks with Torn Meniscus
By Jason McIntyre
Jadeveon Clowney and JJ Watt are seen here celebrating a play in Houston’s 17-6 win over the Redskins on Sunday. It was a dominating performance by the Houston defense, which pressured RG3 all day, sacking him three times, and forcing two turnovers.
Now, the bad news: Clowney suffered a torn meniscus in the victory, and will be out 4-6 weeks, according to the Houston Chronicle. Clowney, who is called an “outside linebacker” but really is a defensive end, will have surgery this week, his second one with the franchise (hernia surgery in June).
The Texans have a relatively easy schedule early: Oakland, then the Giants, then the Bills and Cowboys before finally facing a good team on Oct. 9, the Colts. If Houston gets hot early, it might make sense to hold Clowney out until after the bye week (Nov. 9th) so he can fully heal for the stretch run.
