On Monday Ray Rice was released by the Ravens and suspended indefinitely by the NFL after new video surfaced of him knocking out his then-fiancee in the elevator of an Atlantic City casino. Tuesday, Electronic Arts announced it will remove Rice from the popular Madden NFL 15 video game via its first-week roster update according to Fox Sports Mike Garafolo.

This isn’t the first time EA removed a player from its game rosters. Plaxico Burress was initially included as a free agent in Madden NFL 10 but removed after an update. EA also removed Aaron Hernandez from Madden NFL 25 along with NCAA Football 14, where the former Florida tight end appeared in jersey during an in-game achievement.

Rice will be taken out of the game when the latest rosters come out on Friday:

Also, Nike has announced that it has terminated its endorsement contract with Ray Rice.
