Roger Goodell and the NFL’s handling of the Ray Rice domestic violence incident will undergo an “independent investigation,” conducted by former FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III. The investigation will be overseen by New York Giants’ owner John Mara and Steelers’ owner Art Rooney. Many people are pointing out that Mara and Rooney are technically Goodell’s bosses. I’m sure eventually they will be straightforward about this process.
UPDATE: Mara has already said that the idea Goodell’s job was in jeopardy was “misguided.”
Mueller’s investigation will be overseen by NFL owners John Mara of Giants and Art Rooney of Steelers, and final report will be made public.
