Adam Schefter and Trent Dilfer Crushed Zygi Wilf for Reinstating Adrian Peterson

Adam Schefter has had a feisty tone about league administrators the past couple weeks. On SportsCenter Monday night, the NFL insider said that the Vikings knew that Adrian Peterson was investigated in a second child abuse case last year, and that owners Mark and Zygi Wilf were responsible for the running back’s reinstatement and subsequent suspension of the team’s Radisson sponsorship.

Schefter also brought up the civil suit in which Zygi Wilf and his family were said by a judge to have demonstrated, “bad faith and evil motive,” and ordered to pay more than $80 million to former real estate partners that they had defrauded. (To say nothing of Minnesota taxpayers who are dropping a half-billion dollars, and probably more in ancillary charges, into the team’s new stadium.)

Later on SportsCenter, Trent Dilfer went after the Wilfs for sacrificing Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer to the press. Spielman read awkwardly from his notes while Zimmer was a little bit more charismatic, but stressed that it was an “ownership decision.”

“If I’m a player, I’m going like, ‘This is the organization I play for?'” Dilfer said. “They’re making these decisions … and throwing our leaders under the bus.”
