NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is emerging from his mysterious bunker. He has some things to say. Promptness is not a priority of the new regime. We’ll update when he graces us with his presence.

UPDATE: The press conference strongegins…

* He got it wrong. He will get it right. He’s sorry.

* The NFL has engaged in some sort of partnership with the National Domestic Violence Hotline and the National Sexual Violence Resource Center. Deflect. Look over here, guys.

* The NFL will try to implement a new personal conduct policy by the Super Bowl. He’s establishing a conduct committee. Changes will be both “positive” and “significant.” Maybe include some women this time?

UPDATE: The question and answer period begins…

* Goodell was non-committal when asked by Rachel Nichols if he would be ceding unilateral authority over disciplinary matters.

* Goodell has not considered resigning as NFL Commissioner. He avoided the question about ignorance not being excuse.

* Goodell reiterates the NFL had not seen the second Ray Rice tape before it was made public. What Rice said was inconsistent with the second video. He won’t reveal what Rice said while the appeals process is ongoing.

* Goodell needs a history lesson…

* Goodell regrets meeting with Ray and Janay Rice in the same room.

UPDATE: Mission Accomplished?
