Angel Di Maria Scored vs. Leicester City on a Sublime Chip
By Mike Cardillo
Manchester United started Sunday’s game against Leicester City with Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Angel Di Maria and Falcao each included in the starting XI. Louis van Gaal’s all-in, offensive gameplan produced two quick goals in the first half, including Di Maria’s fantastic chip where the Argentine midfielder barely broke his stride to flight the ball over Kasper Schmeichel’s head.
United took a 1-0 lead when Falcao torched ex-Red Devils defender Ritchie De Laet to tee up an easy header at the back post for Robin van Persie.
The United defense still appears a work in progress. Leonardo Ulloa pulled one back for Leicester shortly after Di Maria’s tally to make it 2-1 going into the halftime break.
