Sad news emerged out of Nashville, Tenn., late Saturday night as former Titans kicker Rob Bironas was killed in a one-car accident when he lost control of his Yukon Denali about a mile away from his home and crashed upside down in a drainage culvert. According to the Tennessean a police spokesman said there was no sign of alcohol at the scene. The 36-year-old was pronounced dead on arrival at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Bironas married Terry Bradshaw’s daughter, Rachel, in June. He wrote on Instagram, “I love being married & I love that smile… Love it!”

The kicker spent eight seasons with the Titans before being released in March. He finished as the franchise’s second all-time leading scorer with 1,032 career points. The Tennessean reported that Bironas worked out earlier this week for the Lions.
