Rob Bironas, the former NFL kicker who died in a car accident Saturday night, allegedly threatened to kill some college kids at an intersection just a few minutes before the crash. According to the college students, Bironas was driving his SUV and there was a “burning smell” coming from his exhaust. Via the Tennessean, then this exchange went down:

"“His window was down, and we pulled up and I said, “Hey man, just a heads up, something’s burning from your exhaust. Your exhaust smells horrible, just wanted to let you know,’’ Fraley recalled telling Bironas. “He looked over at me and said “I’m going to kill everybody in your (expletive) vehicle. It was so random, so bizarre I was like, “What?” And he said the exact same thing again.”"

According to the college kids, they turned at the intersection, and Bironas followed them and sped up, chasing them. At one point, they claim, he nearly sideswiped them. They told police they sped up and eventually lost Bironas.

Since Sunday morning, when the police announced Bironas had died, more and more strange details have emerged about Saturday night. Rachel Bradshaw, the wife of Bironas, claims they watched a movie and he was in bed early, but then she went to check on him and he was gone. She then reported him missing.

Another couple claim Bironas was also driving erratically, and tried to run them off the road.
