Yasiel Puig and Vin Scully Created More Baseball Poetry Monday Night
By Mike Cardillo

Yasiel Puig threw out Brandon Belt at the plate in the 11th inning of Monday night’s Giants/Dodgers game at Chavez Ravine. San Francisco went on to win 5-2 in 13 innings, but Los Angeles still owns a 3.5 game lead in the NL West and will be popping champagne corks at some point in the next couple days.
Either way, Vin Scully’s perfectly non-plussed description of Puig’s laser beam is sports play-by-play at its best: “A thing of beauty of beauty and a joy forever to be blessed with an arm like that. Wow.”
