Jay Glazer was on FOX’s NFL pregame show a few minutes ago, and dropped a big bit of scoopage about the 49ers. “I don’t see any way Jim Harbaugh comes back next year as the head coach of the 49ers,” Glazer said, reiterating a point that he’s been making since Week 1. “Even if they hoist the Lombardi.”
Harbaugh has had very public conflicts with San Francisco’s front office, and Deion Sanders said earlier this week that the head coach’s troubles have spilled over into the locker room. That being said, Harbaugh has always operated with a good deal of controversy, and his teams have thrived not necessarily in spite of it, but perhaps because of the tension.
It seems a little premature to declare his era in San Francisco to be over, but there will be no shortage of suitors in college and the NFL if he does become available.
