Shaq Jones, a freshman cornerback on the Georgia Bulldogs, was kicked off the team this weekend after he was caught stealing $43 worth of goods from Wal-Mart. The sad details, via Dog Bytes:

"A loss prevention associate notified Athens-Clarke County police at 2:07 p.m. Sunday that the freshman from Merritt Island, Fla., was in her office at the Lexington Road Wal-Mart for stealing a car cable and power transformer, according to a police incident report obtained Monday. The charge cable had a value of $30 and the universal powerjolt has a value of $13."

By the end of the season, Georgia coach Mark Richt will probably have kicked half a dozen players off the team for getting arrested. The good news is, Todd Gurley is the Heisman front-runner, so that should mask the team’s off-the-field issues.
