Police Officer Who was Called By Ray McDonald Had Been at His Party Earlier in the Evening

The San Jose Mercury News now reports that the officer was on duty on the night in question when he arrived at the house after being called by McDonald.

"Pritchard was in uniform at the time, and questions about his capacity — on behalf of the department or the team — has spurred an Internal Affairs probe, and police are reviewing their secondary-employment policies, particularly with conflicts of interest, which was forewarned in a 2012 city audit urging more oversight of officers’ off-duty work."

Officer Pritchard was also at the house earlier in the evening, when he had been present during the party for McDonald, along with several 49ers teammates. His presence, in uniform, complicated the proceedings and questions about his role have spawned an internal affairs investigation.
