Jon Gruden Just Learned What a Synonym Is, and Mike Tirico Laughed at Him

Late in the fourth quarter of Rams-Niners, Jon Gruden said that Jim Harbaugh had told him that Frank Gore and Anquan Boldin were stalwarts. When Gruden didn’t know what that meant (that they embodied physical toughness and courage), he was told to look up synonyms for it, but he evidently had to look that word too. Mike Tirico chuckled and told Gruden to quit while he was ahead.

Credit Gruden for not taking himself too seriously here.
