Michael Sam Released from Cowboys Practice Squad

Michael Sam has been released from the Dallas Cowboys, according to dozens of sources on my Twitter feed. After a promising preseason with the Rams, Sam landed in Dallas but never wound up on the team’s active roster. There will presumably be a whole spate of bad jokes about how he was a huge distraction during their 6-1 start, so it’s really not even worth it to try and word that cleverly here. It remains interesting to see whether/where Sam will suit up in a regular season game.
