Mick Foley Made a Surprise Appearance on WWE Raw

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins were going through a run-of-the-mill promo for their Hell in a Cell match this Sunday, when Mick Foley’s music hit. Foley, who lamented a few weeks ago that he would not receive the special appearance pop that The Rock had drawn, got a pretty sizable ovation. Though Foley made his name at Hell in a Cell — that’s where the Jim Ross “WITH GOD AS MY WITNESS HE’S BROKEN IN HALF” line that gets spliced into everything is from — everyone, including Foley’s own daughter, was surprised:

It was nice to see Foley back, and it’s a little bit odd WWE doesn’t have more of a regular rotation of its former stars. It seems like Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, for example, are trotted out every month (that’s fine with the latter, but not so much for the former). It’d be ideal if former wrestlers like Foley, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Diamond Dallas Page were added to the fold, if only on the mic.
