Off-brand Kansas City Royals underpants cannot be worn without the expressed written consent of Major League Baseball. Or something like that. The underpants pictured above were made by a Kansas City-based store called Birdies Panties until Homeland Security served a cease and desist order on behalf of Major League Baseball. Seriously. This is something that happened. Homeland Security showed up where the panties were being printed and confiscated them. Via The Wichita Eagle:

"She thought that since the underwear featured her hand-drawn design that she was safe. But the officers explained that by connecting the “K” and the “C,” she infringed on major league baseball copyright. (The officials involved could not be immediately reached for comment.) They placed the underwear in an official Homeland Security bag and had Honig sign a statement saying she wouldn’t use the logo."

It sounds unbelievable, but apparently The Department of Homeland Security is in charge of stuff like this. Which is amazing. When you hear “Homeland Security” you think of protecting America from terrorism, not playing Underpants Gnomes with Bud Selig. What an amazing time to be alive.
