Will VCU games all feature the Haka this season? At the VCU Black & Gold game on Sunday, Virginia Commonweath’s student pep band, The Peppas, did the traditional Māori war dance. According to a Reddit poster, the chant was led by a student from the Pacific Islands. It will be interesting to see if this is a one-time thing or if they do the dance whenever the band performs. According the VCU website, as of 2013, only 71 of 31,288 students enrolled in all program levels were Hawaiian / Pacific Islander.
