Klay Thompson is having a monster start to the season. He has kicked off the fourth year of his career by averaging 29.7 points a game while shooting .537 from the field and .455 from three. Obviously, it’s a little early in the season (Ben Roethlisberger threw more touchdowns on Sunday than the Warriors have played games this season. Think about that!), but Thompson is already displaying the incredible awesomeness that convinced the Warriors to stick with him instead of using him to trade for Kevin Love.

Here’s Thompson hitting the game-winner, but that’s about the 10th best thing the Warriors did in the final moments of the game. Down 1 with 25 seconds remaining, the Warriors forced three straight Portland turnovers. Thompson hit the basket to put the Warriors in the lead and then Curry finished it up with four free throws to ice the game.

It was perfect execution all around. Especially the Warriors decision not to wait for the final shot. In fact, they got something going to the basket that wasn’t an ISO jumper. It was beautiful basketball and could show a maturity of both the team under Steve Kerr, as well as Klay Thompson. The league should take notice.
