TNT aired Trailblazers-Mavericks last night, and Portland gave Dirk Nowitzki et al. a bit of a thumping. Ernie Johnson asked Charles Barkley if the Blazers’ bench, which has been a liability in past seasons, is as improved as they look thus far. Barkley didn’t especially answer the question. “Contrary to other networks, I don’t go crazy after five games,” he said. “If you watch other networks, you’d think the season was over.”

If Barkley is referring to the whole Simmons/Golic kerfuffle, perhaps he also did not hear the full context of Simmons’ comments?
