Lambeau Field Debuts Self-Serve Beer Stations for Packers-Eagles

The Packers have become the first NFL team to install self-serve beer stations in their stadium. There will apparently be a couple fill-up spots, which will require you to purchase a $20 access card, charge 39 cents an ounce for Miller Lite ($6.24 for a pint is actually a pretty good deal by NFL stadium standards), and shut off after the third quarter. Though the system seems ripe for abuse, there will be ID checkers who will presumably double as guards against blackout drunks from obtaining refills. I’m going to the game tomorrow, and I’d say I’ll let you know how it works out, but there’s no way I’m paying $20 for the right to buy beer in lines that I imagine will be longer than those at concession stands.
